TV restarting while hooked up to Xbox One

Recommended Posts

So since Nov 7th when I'm using my secondary Xbox One in the house plugged into a Samsung 1080p set. The TV seems to reboot every so often. Over the course of a 2 hour gaming session it will restart 2 or 3 times. It's like it's getting turned off then back on. This started to happen right after the most recent OS update for the release of the Xbox One X. It has even done this at the home screen now with no game playing.

The Xbox One is hooked up to the HDMI/DVI port and that port was configured to Game Mode. I was looking around in the settings last night and didn't see anything that I thought would help when changing. So I did switch the ports last night and left the other port that I plugged in on the dynamic mode. I don't use this TV for anything but the secondary XBox One so I don't know if the TV does it with anything else. I might hook up the 360 for a bit just to see if I can get it to act up.

Has anyone else heard anything like this?

The TV is year old but it was a Black Friday special so who knows. It's no not acting like a loss of signal as the Samsung Splash screen comes up like it does after I turn it on.  Here is hoping the HDMI port switch does the job.

So switching the port didn't help but decided to swap out the HDMI cable and I'm happy to report the TV has not restarted since. So out of the 3 items that could have went bad TV, Xbox One, and HDMI cable. I'm happy to report it looks like it was the HDMI cable. *knocks on wood*

The first cable that I'm no longer using looks like the original cable that came with the Xbox One and I replaced it with another cable that looks like originally came with my other Xbox One.
